The Lord Bless You

The Lord Bless You

  •    And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:  The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Num 6:22-27 (KJV) all scriptures are KJV

I feel the Lord wants me to share some insight into His thoughts and desire for His people through this portion of scripture. I will have to do this in a series in order to keep it short for the net, probably at least three separate pieces, then I'll probably record a teaching and post it to my site later. I believe this will, in part, reveal the present day ministry of our High Priest Jesus Christ in the true tabernacle in heaven and also the favor/blessing of God that has come on all believers through the humanity of Christ. First, you need to see and remember that everything connected to the tabernacle and its ministry was a type and shadow of the true tabernacle and ministry of Christ in heaven.

  • Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. Heb 8:5

Everything about the tabernacle was pointing to the true tabernacle in heaven, including the priesthood, because Moses was commanded to appoint the Levites to minister and to bless in His name. Therefore, whatever the priests did in obedience to the Lord was a lesson to learn about what Jesus Christ is doing and who He is in the heavens and true tabernacle. If Aaron was a type and shadow of the real High Priest then you can learn what Christ our true High Priests' ministry is today towards His Church. The book of Hebrews says that Christ is our High Priest.

  • Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus Heb 3:1
  • Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. Heb 8:1-2

So then, this Priestly blessing is what Christ ministers over you everyday. He is the fulfillment of this type and shadow in the Old Testament and has been given all power and authority as our High Priest to carry it out in and through our lives. The first part of this blessing is:

" The Lord bless you"

Jesus, your High Priest, is speaking to you today, "The Lord bless you ".

His spoken blessing on your life is the power to bring heaven to earth to bring the kingdom of God into your present day circumstances so that you can be an overcomer. So that, you can be a blessing to the world around you. So that, you can be blessed in order to be a blessing. His spoken blessing opens doors of opportunity that could never happen otherwise. So that, in the middle of persecution, you can have courage and be a light, a witness to the validity and power of Gods covenant. When you are cursed, the Lord gives you the power of His spoken blessing in order for you to bless those who curse you. Why does God want you to be blessed? The scripture says it is so that He may confirm the covenant that He swore to the fathers.

  • But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. Deut 8:18

Who were the fathers? I believe, based on scripture and what Hebrews believe, that it is Abraham, Issac and Jacob. A lot of people today say that this promise is only for Israel because it is a, so-called, temporal promise and the church does not have a right to this promise because our blessing is spiritual and Israel’s blessing was material. I think that is an uneducated statement and that they have forgotten what Galatians says about our right to be blessed with Abraham. By the way, Abraham’s blessing was not just in wealth. That man received revelation from the Lord that changed history. God called him My friend. What greater blessing is there than to be called the friend of God! Yet, Jesus says that we are His friends if we follow Him. Abraham dwelt in Gods manifested presence on a continual basis. The Lord appeared to him numerous times. All of Abraham’s blessings manifested in some tangible way. Moreover, the scripture declares that we can be and are blessed with Abraham’s blessings

  • Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. Gal 3:7-9
  • 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Gal 3:13-14

I used to read verse 14 of Galatians 3 and think that the blessing spoken of here was only for us to receive the spirit. However, it is actually two promises. Verse 13 says, we are redeemed from the curse of the law so that we might receive in verse fourteen:

  1. Abraham’s blessing - this is both material and spiritual refer to Gen 15:1
  2. We might receive the promise of the Spirit

Ephesians chapter 2 teaches us that the Gentile Christians, who were a part of the universal church of God just as we are today, were at one time excluded from the covenants of promise before they came to faith in Christ. However, now that they have been saved by grace through faith, they were fellow citizens and a part of the household of God, just as we are. The Holy Spirit speaking through Paul in Eph. 2 also says that God has torn down the wall of separation between Jew and Gentile through the cross and now sees one body. God does not see two bodies, one Jew who receives material blessing and one Gentile who receives spiritual blessing. No, the Lord sees one body, one temple, one family; one holy nation and both Jew and Gentile are to receive the blessing of the Lord spiritual and material. I'm not saying it is Gods will for everyone to be a millionaire; there are two real dangers in material blessing, namely

  1. Becoming covetous
  2. Forgetting the Lord.

However, what I am saying, along with the scripture, is that it is Gods will for you to be blessed so that you are not in debt and that you are able to bless someone else. Those who say that the churches blessing is only spiritual are showing a bit of ignorance as to what is spiritual and what is not spiritual.

  • He will give you wisdom in order to make you a good steward of His blessing, wisdom is a spiritual blessing with tangible results.
  • Money itself is ultimately a spiritual blessing.
  • A house is ultimately a spiritual blessing.
  • Physical healing is a spiritual blessing.
  • Peace in our emotions is a spiritual blessing.
  • Healthy family relationships are a spiritual blessing.
  • Civil and national tranquility is a spiritual blessing.

Why are these tangible things a spiritual blessing?

Because, the spoken blessing of the Lord is coming from a spiritual being and place, that is, from the Father through our High Priest, Jesus Christ, who is seated in the heavens at the right hand of God. Jesus Himself said that God is a Spirit. Although the heavenly tabernacle is a spiritual place, yet. it is also very tangible and real, whether we see it or not. The blessing of the Lord is coming from a spiritual being (the Father) to spiritual beings (that would be us) who are in a physical body. Eventually we will have a spiritual, glorified body just like that of Jesus Christ.

  • Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:5
  • So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:  It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 1 Cor. 15:42-44
  • Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.Phil 3:21

I hope you can see that Gods spoken blessing is spiritual, yet manifests in some tangible way.

  • We are called a spiritual house yet, we are real tangible flesh and blood beings.
  • We offer spiritual sacrifices that are expressed in real tangible ways such as praise from our mouths, helping the poor and so on.
  • We are going to receive a spiritual body, in the resurrection, yet it will be very real and visible just like the body of Jesus.
  • Wisdom is spiritual yet manifests as a tangible thing - good decisions, direction for your life's calling and so on.
  • patience is spiritual yet manifests in a tangible way.
  • Jesus spoke a spiritual blessing over bread and fish yet it manifested in a tangible way. It multiplied and fed thousands
  • Jesus spoke to the centurion spiritual words that manifested in his daughters healing

The Israelites ate real manna and drank real water from a real rock yet Paul declares that these were spiritual

  • Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat;  And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.1 Cor 10:1-4

Read also Exodus 16:14:35 and Exodus 17:6 - The manna was a spiritual blessing i.e. a spoken promise from the Lord to Moses, that manifested in a real tangible way and it lasted 40 years! The Lord spoke a blessing of provision and it manifested as real water. The heavens are full of precious metals, streets of pure gold, peace, joy, and love in abundance. No murders, no wars, no illnesses, no death only the totality of the blessing of the Lord upon everything.

We are commanded to pray, "Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as in heaven". Why? I believe one reason is so that the manifested goodness of the Lord will lead people to repentance. He longs to display His goodness to all the earth. Jesus Christ wants people blessed. First and foremost, to have eternal life through Christ. Because without eternal life all the material blessings mean absolutely nothing.

Why would the Lord want you blessed with wisdom?

So that you can have direction and know what to do for your own life, but also that you might be a channel to bless someone with the wisdom that has been imparted to you. The same goes for any area of sin that you may be struggling with. Why would the Lord want you to be blessed with the power to overcome sin? So that you can experience the power of His cross, blood and resurrection working in your life and that you might be a channel to impart that same blessing to others. The same goes for any blessing; it gives you a revelation of the power, love and faithfulness of the Lord and makes you a witness of the Lord to others who are without hope. The blessing of the Lord maketh rich and He addeth no sorrow to it. He yearns to confirm the promises He made to the fathers and  Abraham, " In thy seed all the nations shall be blessed".

I think a lot of people want to see immediate results, but if they do not, then they give up believing or believe the devils lie that he spoke to Adam and Eve, " hath God said". I used to be that way, but no more. If you lack patience in waiting for the manifestation of His blessing, ask the Lord to help you. Patience is a spiritual blessing that manifests in a tangible way, the result being stronger character and the receiving of the promise. The power to overcome sin is a spiritual blessing that manifests in a tangible way namely; changed behavior and emotions to the benefit of the person, church and society.

Remain in faith and patience, remember this spoken blessing in Numbers 6 The Lord bless you. The Lord is not slack concerning His promises but in due season the promise given to you will be fulfilled because Christ your High Priest has and is proclaiming His blessing upon your life everyday.
