How covenant changed my life

The audio is also an ongoing part of my testimony that I may add to that page later. I know the outline is simple but hopefully you can get an idea of what's coming.

God Bless

Listen to the intro first

A. Delivered me from thinking/believing that God was against me

  • Began believing God was against me when certain teaching brought me under the law and/or confusion becausel of:
  • Unscriptural Pseudo psychology which is essentially a law of works where you try and save yourself.
  • A good counselor will teach you to renew your mind in agreement with the word  of God (Romans 12:1-3,Ezekiel 37:26)
  • Told to express anger and then told I had to take responsibility for that anger and control it
  • Told God was bringing my sin out in order for me to deal with it.
  • As I tried to make myself holy by will-power, that was motivated by law, I became increasingly  aware of my total failure to obey the Lord. This also produced a tremendous amount of   anxiety as I thought God was angry with me and was judging me: instead of realizing that my  sins had been judged at the cross through the blood of the covenant. And that I was really angry with myself for not being good enough for the Lord. I was trying to make myself presentable to  the Lord through self- effort rather than trusting in the finished work of Christ
  • The more I thought God was against me the more fearful and angry I became. I thought God was demanding a holiness of life that I could never deliver on.

 B. Given me a confidence that the Lord will answer my prayers

  • I still may get discouraged but it doesn't prevail for weeks or even months at a time any longer because I see God is working patience in me with confidence as I wait on Him to fulfill His obligations in me.
  • That has been a very stabilizing effect on my emotions and I expect it to only get stronger and have less and less discouragement as I grow and mature in the Lords covenant
  • Because I am one with Him through covenant I can have confidence that He will take care of me.
  • If we ask anything in His ( covenant ) Name He will do it because, Jesus is Lord ( Jehovah ).
  • The Covenant Name of the Lord is a strong tower.
  • He said I am meaning He is the I am that I am

C. Made it exciting to once again read the scriptures as I now read them in light of covenant and it's terminology

  • Friend of God
  • Exchange of garments or military armor--- Johnathon and David
  • Eating a covenant meal
  • Drinking of blood i.e. Life to life
  • Unbreakable once made --- Gibeonites
  • Jesus is called the covenant
  • Witnesses present to validate the covenant
  • God calls heaven and earth to bear witness --- Acts 2 – I will do wonders in the heavens and signs in the earth. This takes the pressure off of us to try and make something happen. He watches over his word and performs in His time.
  • Calling on the Name of the Lord – see Jehoshaphat
  • As I live saith the Lord

D. Given me a confidence for my marriage and other marriages to be restored

  • Marriage is a sacred covenant that God created and will protect
  • Marriage is a reflection of our covenant with the Lord in Christ
  • He bore witness to the vows
  • We live in a time of covenant breaking with No Fault Divorce.

E. The term/phrase In Christ takes on a whole new meaning

  • We are in Him through the blood of the covenant
  • All in him ( the covenant) verses are Gods solemn and binding oath to fulfill his power, kingdom, purpose and promises in us as we believe.
  • We are in Him as a new creation of human beings being restored in knowledge of Jehovah Himself and his ways from glory to glory ( one revelation of Christ to another for He is the glory of God ) as we continue to believe and wait on Him. ( who is the covenant )

 F. Unity can only come about as we realize what it means to be in covenant with the Lord

  • Every Christian and Minister is in Covenant with Jesus
  • If we persecute one another then we are ministering with a breach see Levites could not minister with a broken ( breached ) foot or hand
  • Many were sick and had fallen asleep because they did not discern the body of the Lord
  • If we attack one another we are attacking the Lords body.
  • Jesus said Paul was persecuting Him not the Baptist, Pentecostal, Lutheran or Charismatic church
  • Ananias and wife were robbing the Lord not the church
  • This should cause us too walk in a holy fear and respect of one another even if we don't understand the other. Understanding comes with time and communication emphasis on the commune part or communion
